Wates Project Manager Scoops Prestigious Award
A Project Manager for Wates has won Site Manager of the Year at the annual LABC Excellence Awards in London.
Glyn Williams, who has worked in construction for 40 years and mostly on commercial projects, was recognised for his continuing work on Ffordd Pandarus, where we’re building a selection of affordable housing in Mostyn, North Wales as part of Flintshire County Council’s landmark Strategic Housing and Regeneration Programme (SHARP).
The award celebrates the skill and commitment it takes to deliver quality in construction, and every year site managers across the country are recognised for their exceptional contribution to home building with regional and national Site Manager Awards from LABC Warranty.
He said: "I'm very proud, and it means a lot, as I’ve never been nominated or won awards before. I've spent most of my career in the commercial side, so it’s fantastic to be involved in building new homes for people who really need them. It keeps me proud of everything we do in the construction industry!"
LABC Warranty works in partnership with Local Authority Building Control (LABC), providing structural warranties and building control for new-build and newly-converted buildings across England and Wales through a combined network of more than 3,500 surveyors.
Site managers are nominated for the Site Manager Awards by LABC Warranty’s local risk surveyors. Covering as many as 3,000 sites a year, surveyors only nominate a small number of site managers from regions across England and Wales.
