100 New Energy-Efficient Homes To Be Developed Near Paignton

Construction News Image
Cavanna Homes has been given the go-ahead by Torbay Council to deliver 100 new energy-efficient homes on the edge of Collaton St Mary village, near Paignton.

The land, on the north of Totnes Road, includes a hectare of brownfield land, and more than half of the site will be retained as open green space.

The homes will be a mix of detached, semi-detached and terraced properties, all of which will be fitted with high quality insulation and heating systems. We anticipate that building work will begin in Autumn 2023.

Development Manager, Karen Croker said: 'Securing planning consent on this site in Collaton St Mary, close to our Head Office is fantastic.

"We are pleased to have allocated 30 percent of the homes as affordable housing for local people to help tackle the housing crisis in Torbay."

Funds released from the development in the form of Section 106 payments will support the Collaton St Mary flood alleviation works, benefit local schools and improve public transport.
