Plans for a new housing development at Peel L&P’s Trafford Waters development have been given the green light.
The scheme from Trafford Housing Trust, part of L&Q, will see 83 one and two-bedroom homes built at the Trafford side of the Manchester Ship Canal within TraffordCity, next to The Trafford Centre and Trafford Leisure Village.
The homes are part of Peel L&P's wider Trafford Waters development, a scheme that will create 3,000 new homes, over 5,000 jobs, a 20 acre of public park, a primary school, offices, amenity retail, hotels and community space.
Ben Townsend, New Business Director at Trafford Housing Trust, said: "We are understandably very pleased to have received planning permission, and we are looking forward to working closely with colleagues at Peel L&P to bring this development forward.
"Trafford Housing Trust is committed to bringing forward housing in Trafford and the North West, and gaining planning permission for this development is another step forward in achieving those ambitions."
James Whittaker, Peel L&P’s Executive Director for Development added: "We're pleased that we’ll soon be able to welcome Trafford Housing Trust on site to start building Trafford Waters’ first residential scheme and we're proud that these will be affordable homes to meet local housing needs."
The development will start on site early summer 2023.
