GRAHAM Continues To Invest In Sustainable Travel Solutions
Construction firm GRAHAM is continuing to invest in more sustainable travel solutions with the phased roll-out of EV chargers across a number of its sites and offices throughout the UK and Ireland.
Armed with ambitions to become a net-zero business by 2030, the latest investment follows a surge in employee demand for electric company vehicles, with orders increasing by 363% in the last twelve months.
Partnering with the Project EV app, GRAHAM has introduced 16 new EV chargers in its Hillsborough headquarters. Additional charging sites are also located across GRAHAM offices in Dromore, Glasgow and Belfast.
Championed by GRAHAM Quantity Surveyor and EV user, Gareth Long, he explains how the app-savvy EV chargers will provide greater access and peace of mind to employees who are wanting to make more sustainable choices. He said: "With the introduction of the chargers across various locations, it will facilitate the migration to EVs for employees by increasing their access to chargers at work and reducing any range anxiety. It’s a win-win for everyone - GRAHAM is demonstrating our commitment to cutting carbon, whilst employees can save money more sustainably in the long run."
GRAHAM's proactive approach towards sustainability has led to significant strides in lowering CO2e emissions. Currently all company car options are now either electric or plug-in hybrid, and renewable tariffs are specified by GRAHAM for all its energy connections. Other ongoing commitments include training employees in carbon literacy; the installation of telematic systems in plant and company vans to measure performance and fuel efficiency; and the roll-out of the life cycle assessment of embodied carbon across key projects.
GRAHAM is also enhancing its employee benefits package by partnering with Pod Point, to offer GRAHAM employees corporate discount for the purchase of at-home EV chargers.
