Thorndown Bring Colour To Chelsea
Wood paint specialists Thorndown's eco credentials were on full display at this year's Chelsea Flower Show, where its paints were used in not one, but two gardens.
The West Country-based paint manufacturer created four bespoke shades for award-winning garden designer Manoj Malde's RHS and Eastern Eye Garden of Unity. The colours - monikered Chelsea Pink, Chelsea Orange, Chelsea Aubergine and Chelsea Ivory, are a celebration of Manoj's Indian heritage and the everyday beauty of Indian culture.
And designer Lynne Lambourne, who created a garden showcasing GARDENA UK's EcoLine range of recycled garden accessories, used lashings of Swan White wood paint to allow the luscious greenery of her garden to shine all that more brighter.
Caroline Thornborough, Thorndown's Design Director, said: "We were thrilled to be able to help bring both Manoj and Lynne’s Chelsea garden visions to life.
"After seeing the finished gardens for ourselves and how much visitors loved the vibrant colours in Manoj's garden, we decided to make the bespoke colours available to our customers for use in their own gardens. Customers can order the shades directly from our factory, and Swan White being part of our core range can be ordered via our online shop for direct delivery to homes and businesses."
Like all other colours in the Thorndown range, these four shades created especially for Chelsea are water-based, technically-excellent paint with virtually no VOCs.
They are priced at £20 for a 750ml tin and can be ordered from thorndown.co.uk.
