WB Griffiths & Son Awarded Pre-Construction Contract In Pembrokeshire
WB Griffiths & Son has been awarded the pre-construction services agreement for a housing development in Milford Haven by Pembrokeshire County Council.
The development aims to provide sustainable social housing through a combination of one and two-bedroom flats. The designs also include measures to make the homes highly energy efficient.
The site is a former retail building on Charles Street that was demolished in 2018. Over the coming months, the project will go through various design stages and costed options to ensure construction costs are viable and affordable.
Should construction costs be agreed upon, building work is planned to start in Autumn 2024, with construction expected to last about 12 months.
The council has planned an upcoming community engagement event where businesses and members of the community will be invited to meet with the development team, view conceptual plans and provide their opinions. These views will be considered when the development's plans are finalised.
Commenting on the appointment, Cllr Jon Harvey, Cabinet Member for Planning & Housing Delivery, said: "It is really pleasing that the pre-construction services agreement for the redevelopment of this important site within the town centre of Milford Haven has now been awarded.
"The site is one of a number identified in the Council's house building programme and when complete the development will provide much needed additional affordable homes in the town."
