Chartered surveying firm Bruton Knowles has appointed Aled Jenkins as the new Head of Building Consultancy National Team Wales.
Aled has set his sights on an ambitious future for the Wales department, he said: “My goal is to significantly enhance Bruton Knowles’ presence in the region. We're entering an era of remarkable opportunities in the Welsh market, from private residential developments to public sector initiatives.
"I envision us not just being a part of these projects but leading the way with innovative solutions that meet our clients' evolving needs. We will leverage our existing relationships and key public sector frameworks to position ourselves as a go-to consultancy for project and property advice in Wales."
Aled's professional journey began in 2000 when he graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying from the University of Glamorgan. His early career included valuable experiences, such as procuring new developments and expanding the existing housing stock for a North Wales Housing Association.
Over the years, Aled gained extensive expertise, including a period at Alder King LLP in Bristol and Cardiff, and EC Harris in Cardiff, where he worked on commercial surveys for clients like Royal Bank of Scotland and McDonalds.
In 2004, Aled joined Bruton Knowles in Cardiff as an Associate to develop and enhance their building surveying presence. He played a pivotal role in rebuilding the department and securing long-term clients and framework agreements.
His dedication and contributions led to promotions and, his appointment as Head of Building Consultancy National Team Wales. One of Aled’s key strengths is his experience in development monitoring on behalf of the funders. These have ranged from private and social residential, to commercial ventures like offices, hotels, care homes, and more, including religious buildings and temples.
Commenting on his appointment, Aled said: "I'm honoured to take on the role of Head of Building Consultancy in Wales. With my background and experience, I’m excited to lead our team and further strengthen our presence in the Welsh market. I believe in building trust, nurturing strong client relationships, and delivering exceptional results. I’m looking forward to contributing to the continued growth and success of the business."
His involvement in complex schemes has earned him the trust of clients and generated multiple business opportunities. Aled also adds to the growing number of staff within the team who speak Welsh.
He added: "Speaking both Welsh and English allows our team to communicate effectively with our clients and stakeholders in their preferred language, which fosters strong relationships and trust throughout the region."
