Spitfire Homes Acquires Brownfield Site In Halesowen

Construction News Image
Spitfire Homes has acquired a 5.6-acre brownfield site in Halesowen.

The Midlands-based housebuilder has already started work on site clearance and demolition of the office block that previously occupied the plot.

Each home will feature Spitfire's iconic approach to design, presenting stylish exteriors and high specification interiors including a range of sustainability features such as air source heat pumps and electric vehicle charging points, ensuring that each home is energy efficient and future proofed.

An existing woodland area on site will be retained and enhanced with species of wildflower grass to encourage wildlife and preserve the natural environment. The housebuilder is also planning to plant a number of trees, alongside a scheme of landscape enhancement works on the embankment on Manor Way.

Located at the former Sandvik HQ, the 5.6-acre site benefits from a wealth of local amenities and has excellent transport links to nearby cities including Birmingham and Worcester. Work will start in the New Year with the first properties expected to be ready in late 2024.

Ben Leather, Managing Director at Spitfire Homes, said: "We are pleased to have completed the acquisition of this prime location in Halesowen, continuing our investment in the region. We have already received a number of enquiries for these 61 design-led homes which will help to meet rising demand from a range of buyers for quality, sustainable homes in the area.

"As our reputation as a leading housebuilder continues to grow, we’re anticipating the strong interest in these homes to continue, and will be releasing further details in the New Year. Halesowen offers excellent connectivity via the national motorway network and public transport links, as well as boasting a variety of local amenities."
