A.C. Whyte Celebrates 50th Anniversary
Construction firm A.C. Whyte is celebrating its 50th anniversary by winning £8 million of new business from six new contracts, all within the last eight weeks.
Originating as A.C. Whyte (Slaters & Plasterers) in 1973, the company has consistently delivered top-tier projects, accumulating a legacy of excellence. With 50 years of experience, A.C. Whyte is key player in major retrofit construction, boasting a £20 million turnover, a dedicated workforce of over 100 professionals, operating across 26 Scottish local authority regions.
Bob Phin, Owner of A.C. Whyte, reflects on the company's half century milestone, said: "A.C. Whyte is a family business, and our values reflect this. Indeed, over the last decade, the company has exhibited remarkable growth, refurbishing thousands of homes while remaining true to its core values."
The recent new business growth means A.C. Whyte is emerging stronger than ever, despite challenges. These include recent supply chain disruptions as well as the global pandemic and 2008 financial crisis.
As well as their robust growth plans, A.C. Whyte's commitment to sustainability is also at the heart of the business. This is evident in its workforce training model, aligning with net-zero goals, and fostering innovation. This year, they have further strengthened their board by welcoming Directors, Dawn Neilson, and Marion Forbes, in addition to their already accomplished board members. Each of these appointments brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and expertise to their respective roles.
Jennifer Phin, Managing Director said: "Our people are the essence of A.C. Whyte and an integral part of the resounding success we embody as a business today. As we celebrate our 50th birthday this November, we thank our team, subcontractors, clients, and partners for their commitment. Their support has played a pivotal role in our journey, and we look forward to the next 50 years."
