A home insulation project in Amber Valley has scooped a second award.

The work undertaken by Westville to insulate 92 homes in and around Fletcher Street, Ripley, has garnered additional acclaim.

Building upon its recent triumph as the winner in the Efficiency East Midlands Building Communities Awards for Collaborative Working, Westville proudly submitted the project to the Insulated Cladding and Render Association Awards.

The initiative secured victory in the prestigious category of “Low-Rise Refurbishment”. Judges specifically commended the project for its exceptional detailing and the quality of the finish, resulting in remarkable visual and thermal enhancements.

As a direct outcome of these improvements, each household is estimated to enjoy savings of approximately £540 per year. The collective annual carbon savings are an impressive 83.7 tonnes, underscoring the project's significant environmental impact.

This successful venture was made possible through a collaborative effort between Westville, Amber Valley Borough Council, and Futures Housing Group. The project was executed with the support of grant funding awarded by the Government through the Local Authority Delivery programme.

Councillor Allwood, Cabinet Member for Housing and Public Health at Amber Valley Borough Council, expressed his satisfaction with the project. He, alongside David Arkle, Head of Housing and Growth, and Sean Stevenson, Managing Director of Westville, emphasised the positive collaborative effort that led to the transformation of the energy efficiency of homes.

Councillor Allwood stated: "It is great to receive further recognition for what has been a really positive collaborative effort to transform the energy efficiency of homes." David Arkle and Sean Stevenson echoed his sentiments, emphasising the impact of the project on both individual households and the broader community."
