Dura Launch New Recycled Plastic Channel Drainage

Construction News Image
Sustainable construction innovator, Dura Products, has announced the launch of a new low-profile, low-cost eco-friendly unit to its range of standard recycled and recyclable heavy duty linear surface drainage systems.

Durachannel 160 has been designed to suit mainstream applications such as forecourts, carparks, highways and any surface or structure requiring efficient linear drainage.

A shallow depth injection moulded D400 linear unit manufactured with high recycled plastic content, Durachannel 160’s monolithic design ensures full integration with surrounding structures, eradicating issues to pedestrians and road users caused by missing, loose or dislodged gratings.

The system is designed to drain surfaces and structures quickly and safely through dual, heel friendly slots across the whole length of the channel line. Access and outfall units enable easy jetting and general maintenance while its size at 500mm x 187mm x 160mm and weight at 4.5kg means it can be lifted without the need for machinery. The units lower price point compared to traditional channel costs, sets it apart and makes it an ideal stock item for builders merchants looking to offer their clients innovative, competitive and more sustainable solutions.

Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are now available for all Dura systems. Independently assessed and certified, EPD’s provide data for accurate and comparable (GWP) Global Warming Potential, so carbon and environmental impact can be measured across a product’s full life cycle. Durachannel is CE marked (EN1433-D400) and meets the requirements of IAN117/08 Rev 2.

Andy Leah, Technical Manager, Dura Products, commented: "The addition of the 160mm standard unit to our Durachannel range means that a more sustainable solution can be used across all surface drainage projects where a shallow depth unit is the norm such as on forecourts and in carparks. Since 2003 we have been offering environmentally friendly kerbing and drainage products worldwide to help companies reduce embodied carbon and boost their sustainability principles. This new addition to our range is our most competitive and mainstream solution to date."

Dura Products also offers Durakerb, a lightweight and recycled kerbing unit and Duradrain, a green combined kerbing and drainage solution. All three ranges by Dura Products provide a circular method for road building and managing surface run-off.
