Vistry Group has completed building work on the latest phase of new homes at Rochester Riverside, which is bringing up to 1,400 properties to the area.
The housebuilder has constructed all 171 homes - under the Countryside Homes brand - at Parkside Quarter, in the third phase of the wider Rochester Riverside project – a joint venture between Vistry and Hyde, in partnership with Medway Council.
The wider scheme is transforming a 50-acre brownfield site into a new destination for the area, with 502 homes provided so far in the first three phases, along with a new primary school, a new plaza with shops and a hotel, and public open space including a river walkway.
Residents have moved into 151 of the 161 homes for private sale in the current phase at Parkside Quarter, while all of the 10 affordable homes provided for shared ownership have been handed over. There’s just one property remaining for sale – a two-bedroom ground-floor apartment.
The next phase of the development is due to launch in 2025, comprising 154 homes located directly to the south of the third phase, already has detailed planning permission.
The first homes, from a range of one and two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom houses, are expected to be released for sale next year.
A hybrid planning application for up to 1,400 new homes at Rochester Riverside was approved in February 2018.
