Significant Progress Made To Deliver New Apartments In Birmingham
Significant progress has been made to deliver 58 new apartments at Birmingham's landmark island community as joint venture partners, Urban Splash and Places for People, join Caddick Construction to mark the development’s 'topping out'.
The milestone has seen the six-storey development reach its uppermost point, and comes just five months after Caddick Construction commenced building work on the second phase of the new 43-acre island community located alongside Birmingham Canal.
The Mansion House complex consists of apartments set around five cores, overlooking the canal that will offer homeowners the ability to acquire one and two bedroom apartments, some being dual aspect.
With the building now topped out, Caddick Construction is moving onto the next phase of the building work having already constructed 330 tonnes of steel and 3,257 tonnes of concrete. The project has so far generated a £3.5m spend with local suppliers and subcontractors.
Designed by ShedKM architects, Mansion House forms part of Urban Splash and Places for People’s award-winning new neighbourhood, which incorporates extensive residential development, the new South Loop Park, Ladywood Leisure Centre and YARD, the city’s first Art House for the local community.
Caddick Construction was awarded the £14m contract in 2023, becoming the first project for the business following its expansion into the Midlands.
Ray O'Sullivan, Regional Director of Caddick Construction Midlands, commented: "We have made excellent progress on our delivery of the next phase of Port Loop, which we owe to the hard work and expertise of our team as well as the clear and ambitious vision of Urban Splash and Places for People. As we progress our work on site, we will be engaging with our local supply chain partners and using our presence on site at Port Loop to train and employ the local and wider Birmingham community."
