Morgan Sindall's North East and Cumbria team announced the latest stage of its development following its move to a new permanent Newcastle base.

Having previously been located at Rotterdam House, the leading contractor has taken out a ten-year lease at Praxis’ recently refurbished No.1 St James Gate, an office building located in close proximity to Newcastle train station and offering a high level of sustainability with the highest possible EPC A rating. This location offers connectivity with the Metro, local hotels and a multi-storey car park.


The new office will further enhance Morgan Sindall's operations and ensure optimum delivery for projects throughout the North East and Cumbria.

The 3,500 sq ft space comprises three quarters of level 7 of St James Place. Dermot Main of Main Allen Property Consultancy represented Morgan Sindall, while landlord Praxis was represented by Greg Davison of Savills’ Newcastle office. The fit out was undertaken by The DL company.

Morgan Sindall's North East and Cumbria operation has created 40 new jobs within the business, as well as bringing a boost to local supply chains. Current projects onsite include the creation of a new £39m secondary school, Callerton Academy, in Newcastle and

a new £12 million training centre for leading workforce training provider TTE Technical, part of the Middlesbrough College Group. The latter is set to be completed in the coming months.

There is also a strong pipeline of work secured across the North East and Cumbria, with numerous project wins set to be announced later this year.
