Housebuilder Dandara has announced plans to build 85 new homes in Petersfield, 15 miles North of Portsmouth.
The housebuilder plans to create a landscape-led development that integrates with the natural surroundings of the South Downs National Park.
Located less than a mile from the town centre, the development will include a variety of one to four bedroom homes. Construction is expected to start in Winter 2024 and the development is due to launch in the Summer of 2025.
Paul Ebbs, Regional Director at Dandara Southern, commented: "This development is a significant enhancement for Petersfield, bringing in several new job opportunities.
"Situated in an ideal commuter spot, the location offers convenient access to train links, all while providing the serenity of the countryside. We anticipate that the primary buyers will be young professionals, first-time buyers, and families seeking to embrace a more nature-centric lifestyle."
For outdoor enthusiasts, the Queen Elizabeth Country Park is located just three miles away, boasting cycle tracks, walks, trails, a visitor centre, and the Beechwood Kitchen—an ideal spot for refueling after a day of exploration. Petersfield town centre, known for its vibrant atmosphere, is conveniently within walking distance from the site. It hosts regular markets and festivals, providing ample opportunities to enjoy theatre, music, and art. The ancient market town also features attractions such as Petersfield Museum, the Physic Garden, and the Norman church of St Peter’s for those interested in history.
