Travelodge Announces New Hotels In Skegness And Harwich
Travelodge exchanged contracts for two new hotels to be developed in Skegness and Harwich, with construction on both developments having also commenced on site.
The hotels are being developed by Burney Group and constructed by Faircloth Construction Ltd.
The new 80-bed Travelodge hotel in Skegness is being built on a former crazy golf site on South Parade, and will create 30 new jobs. The hotel will be built to Travelodge’s new premium look design, and will feature the company’s in-house restaurant 85 Bar Cafe, which will be located on the top floor of the six-storey building, giving views over the sea. The hotel will be built alongside a Starbucks Drive Thru. Skegness Travelodge is expected to be open in time for Summer 2025.
A new 68-room Travelodge hotel is also being developed in Harwich, located on a six-acre Stanton Europark site next to Harwich Port and Enterprise Zone. The hotel will operate alongside Starbucks, KFC, Burger King, Howdens and Screwfix and will open in Summer 2025.
Travelodge has a long-standing relationship with Burney Group, which developed the Ipswich Central Travelodge, which opened last year, and the Boston Travelodge.
The hotel chain is continuing to expand its hotel portfolio in the UK, and has opened five hotels this year (London Oval, Bristol, Colchester, Rotherham and London Bermondsey), with a 6th hotel (London Beckenham) to open later this year. Travelodge has a further requirement to open 300 more hotels across the UK, including further locations in Essex and Lincolnshire.
