Platform Housing Group Partners With Keepmoat Homes

Construction News Image
Platform Housing Group has teamed up with Keepmoat Homes to deliver 319 homes as part of a bigger development on the former Boots site in Nottingham.

Once completed, the homes at Trentside will be all electric, with air source heat pumps and innovative solar electricity tech panels to generate energy, saving residents substantial monthly costs on running their homes.

The site is part of a larger development, Beeston Canalside, which will be made up of more than 600 homes in total.

With work now underway – with an anticipated completion date of 2029 for the entire regeneration project - this is our largest ever development, contributing to an impressive 1500 homes we will start work on this year. It represents a huge achievement for us as we continue to build homes across the region.

30 of the homes are being delivered for Nottingham City Council with 93 allocated for affordable rent and 226 for shared ownership.

Elizabeth Froude, our Chief Executive Officer said: "We are absolutely passionate about this landmark development on a very special site that will bring high quality new homes and significant investment to the city of Nottingham and I would like to thank all those who have got us to this stage; it demonstrates partnership working at its very best. For our future customers it really will be all about place, creating a fantastic community, as well as offering them the very best in energy reducing initiatives. We’re proud to stand alongside our partners and remain committed to delivering new homes for the people of Nottingham and the surrounding area."

Mark Lowe, Head of Housing and Regeneration at Nottingham City Council said: "Nottingham City Council’s vision is that homes in the city meet the aspirations and needs of both current and future residents. We want people to be able to live in safe, warm homes that they can afford, in vibrant local neighbourhoods where everyone can thrive. I’m delighted to see this development coming forward, delivered by a dynamic partnership on a cross boundary site to create much needed new housing, including new affordable homes, for Nottingham people."

The development comprises part of the 286 acre Nottingham Enterprise Zone – which aims to be the UK’s centre for innovation in life sciences, medical research, health, beauty and wellness - and Walgreen Boots Alliance campus, which formed part of the health and pharmacy chains operational headquarters where it developed and manufactured ibuprofen painkillers during the 1960s.
