As the UK's largest built environment event, UK Construction Week (NEC, 1-3 October) has officially kicked off, offering a packed schedule of innovations, cutting-edge technology and industry insights.
To help visitors make the most of their time, organisers have outlined some must-see highlights.
• Expert Talks
With over 200 speakers across seven hubs, visitors can hear from leading industry figures like Mace CEO Mark Reynolds, Keltbray MD Michael O’Hagen, and Nick Smallwood, CEO of the Infrastructure Projects Authority.
• Networking Opportunities
UKCW offers various networking sessions, including the BSF Building Safety workshops, Women in Construction Networking Hour, and the Opening Night Party. These events provide the chance to connect with industry professionals and experts.
• Big Buyers Lounge
New this year, the Finditin Big Buyers Lounge offers opportunities to meet and network with key buyers from major construction firms such as Morgan Sindall, Equans, Galliford Try, and BAM Construction.
• Onsite On Hire
Making its debut, the Onsite On Hire exhibition will feature top tools and equipment available for hire or purchase from brands like JCB, Speedy Hire, and Makita.
• Roofing, Cladding, and Insulation Expo
Also new to UKCW, the RCI Expo will showcase over 50 exhibitors, including Insulfix and Tata Steel, with expert speakers from leading companies in the roofing and cladding industry.
• Keynote Mayors
West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker (Oct 1) and East Midlands Mayor Claire Ward (Oct 2) will take part in Q&A sessions, discussing their regions' construction priorities and future plans.
• Net Zero Hub
The Net Zero Hub, debuting this year, highlights innovations and sustainable practices. Sponsored by Reconomy, the hub will feature a Net Zero Trail showcasing eco-friendly technologies and methods.
• Six Shows, One Ticket
A single entry ticket gives visitors access to six different shows covering various aspects of construction, including Infrastructure, Build X, Digital Construction, and more.
• VIP Experience
UKCW has introduced a VIP ticket, offering perks such as VIP parking, access to an exclusive lounge, and complimentary refreshments for networking and meetings. VIP passes are available for £99.
• Free CPD Points
Visitors can earn free Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points through a wide range of seminars and workshops held over the three days.
