Jones Homes Acquires Site In Hoo St Werburgh
Jones Homes has purchased a nine-acre site in Hoo St Werburgh for the construction of 100 new homes.
Located south of Stoke Road, the land sits across from the company's completed Walnut Grange development in the village. Outline planning approval was secured in December 2022, and Jones Homes is now set to submit detailed plans for the project to Medway Council.
The development will consist of a mix of two, three and four-bedroom properties, including five two-bedroom bungalows. There will be 75 homes for private sale and 25 affordable homes comprising 15 properties for low-cost rent and 10 for shared ownership.
Almost a third of the site will be provided as public open space, featuring an attenuation pond and equipped children’s play area.
Jon Tite, Commercial Director at Jones Homes, said: "We have built up a good relationship with the local community through our work on the Walnut Grange development in Hoo St Werburgh, which has provided 65 high-quality new homes for the village.
"This land purchase will enable us to build on that work by delivering an additional 100 modern and energy efficient homes to meet the housing needs of the local area, including the provision of good quality affordable homes.
"The development will also bring considerable new investment to the area as part of the planning agreement, which will benefit not just those who live here but the wider community."
