Improvement works are to commence on the A520 junction in Staffordshire.
Staffordshire County Council has invested £450,000 in the scheme whichwill take approximately six weeks to complete and see the whole of the A520 Windmill Hill roundabout in Meir Heath resurfaced as well as its approaches. Other improvements include repairs to kerbs, ironwork and drains.
Beginning this Monday 21 October, temporary lane closures will be in place. Full closures of the whole roundabout and approaches will be needed on 11, 12, 20 and 21 of November, between 7pm and 6am. Signed diversions will be in place.
Staffordshire County Council's cabinet member for strategic highways Mark Deaville said: "This is a major scheme on a busy junction which will see lasting improvements for many years to come.
"To carry out work safely, traffic management, including the overnight closures next month, will be needed and there will be inevitable disruption for which we apologise for.
"The team will make every effort to minimise the impact of the works, but we’d ask people to allow extra journey time if travelling through the junction.
"This scheme is further demonstration of our commitment to improve out road network across the county."
