Renovations have been completed to numerous tennis courts across Haringey in London as part of a £500,000 project and are now available to be used by the public.
Haringey Council, local Friends groups and the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) contributed to the refurbishment works that were carried out to playing surfaces on two full-size courts and a mini court at Downhills Park, as well as two full-size courts at Chapmans Green, Chestnuts Park and Stationers Park.
Two full-size courts and two mini-courts were also rejuvenated at Priory Park.
An official launch at Downhills Park was attended by Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure, Cllr Emily Arkell, alongside Access to Sports, LTA and Middlesex Tennis representatives.
Cllr Arkell said: "It's great that Haringey residents of all ages and abilities will be able to benefit from these new playing surfaces on tennis courts across our borough.
"I'd like to thank the local Friends groups and the LTA for their support in delivering this project in partnership."
Scott Lloyd, LTA Chief Executive, added: "We're delighted to see park tennis courts across Haringey officially re-open to the public and in better shape than ever."
