LNT Construction, a division of LNT Care Developments, has appointed Dudleys Consulting Engineers to support development planning and civil engineering for a series of new care home projects across the UK.
LNT Care Developments is the country's largest provider of carbon-zero, affordable, and high-quality care homes. Over its 30-year history, the group has developed more than 230 sites, delivering over 15,000 beds with a combined value exceeding £3.7 billion.
As part of its expansion plans, LNT sought to strengthen its supply chain by partnering with Dudleys Consulting Engineers, a firm renowned for its expertise in care home projects. Dudleys will provide drainage design to secure planning consent and handle highway alterations to obtain technical approvals under Section 278 agreements.
Currently, Dudleys' North West team is advising LNT on six new 66-bed care homes located in Coalville, Colchester, Diss, Gloucester, Ross-on-Wye, and Shrewsbury. Their expert engineering support and design information aim to streamline planning and construction processes for these developments.
Chris Brady, Technical Director leading Dudleys Manchester office, said: "We are delighted to assist LNT Construction with strategic advice through pre planning stages, drainage strategy, flood risk assessments and subsequently provide engineering design to support construction processes.
"Timescales have been very tight for most of the projects, but our team has been very efficient in working with various drainage, highways and lead local flood authorities in each geographical location. Different planning policy requirements were also a key consideration and working within the policy framework of each area requires in-depth knowledge and experience of the technical challenges to be overcome. We have also assisted in designing off-site S278 highways works and off-site drainage outfall solutions, negotiating with highway and drainage authorities during the process.
"Dudleys is passionate about working collaboratively with clients, key stakeholders and regulatory authorities to deliver sustainable solutions with the best possible value."
