Kier Appointed To Deliver 93 Homes In Hackney's Colville Estate Regeneration
Kier has been selected to deliver 93 new homes in east London as part of the London Borough of Hackney's masterplan for the Colville Estate.
The redevelopment project, which includes 925 homes in total, is one of the largest regeneration initiatives in the council’s history.
The Colville Estate renewal, being delivered in seven phases, aims to replace over 430 outdated homes with modern, affordable housing, civic amenities, and public spaces that integrate the estate with the wider borough.
Kier's appointment marks the beginning of Phase 2C of the project. This phase will see the construction of 93 mixed-tenure homes across two plots, including:
• 52 social rent homes for returning residents and local households in need, funded by the Mayor of London's Affordable Homes Programme.
• 19 shared ownership homes for Hackney residents and workers.
• 22 privately-owned homes to support mixed-tenure living.
In addition to housing, the 9,500 sq m development will deliver critical infrastructure, including the shell and core of a new energy centre. This facility will provide heating and energy to the entire Colville Estate and have capacity to support future developments in the area.
The project also includes the construction of a community centre, a landscaped communal courtyard garden, new pedestrian pathways, pocket parks, and other public spaces designed to enhance the quality of life for residents.
With earlier phases of the regeneration, Phase 1 and Phases 2A and 2B, already completed, Kier’s contribution to Phase 2C brings the council closer to its goal of creating a sustainable, vibrant, and connected community on the Colville Estate.
