The Hill Group Appoints New Head Of Planning
Housebuilder The Hill Group has appointed Alex Woolmore as its new Head of Planning.
This significant hire comes at a critical time for the group, as the government looks to housebuilders to ramp up delivery to meet its ambitious goal of delivering 1.5 million new homes.
In her new role within Hill, Alex will provide advice and guidance on planning-related matters to support the promotion of the Group's strategic land portfolio and the delivery of its existing pipeline. She will also drive the acquisition of new sites helping the business achieve its housing delivery targets and ensuring smooth navigation through planning applications.
Alex brings extensive experience as both a planning expert and a qualified lawyer. She joins Hill from Related Argent where she spent 16 years, most recently as Planning Director, playing a pivotal role in the planning strategies for landmark regeneration projects including King's Cross and Tottenham Hale. Her experience has shaped her passion for placemaking, with a particular emphasis on delivering vibrant public realms and social infrastructure. She already had a close working knowledge of Hill through her role as a board member at Poplar HARCA, the East London housing association that has partnered with Hill to regenerate the Teviot Estate.
Andy Hill OBE, founder and Group Chief Executive of The Hill Group, said: "Alex's extensive experience, combined with her passion for placemaking and design, makes her an exceptional addition to our team and we look forward to her contributions in shaping our strategic land ambitions. Her appointment comes at an exciting time for both Hill and the housing sector, as we establish ourselves to unlock new opportunities under the new National Planning Policy Framework. The Hill Group is well-positioned to capitalise on these changes, with our proven track record of creating award-winning, community-focused developments."
