GMI Construction Group has achieved the practical completion of its £16m contract at MIRA Tech Park (MTP) five weeks ahead of schedule, marking a major milestone in the ongoing expansion of Europe’s largest automotive research and development cluster.
The project, managed by Swanvale Developments on behalf of Evans Randall Investors, which is leading MTP’s real estate development and expansion, involved the construction of two state-of-the-art units on Plot 9. Each unit provides 36,000 sq. ft of high-quality office and technical space, tailored to meet the needs of the cutting-edge automotive and cleantech industries.
In addition to the construction of the units, the project included significant infrastructure upgrades to enhance access to the new plots and installation of site-wide services as part of MTP's comprehensive masterplan expansion.
Located adjacent to the HORIBA MIRA test track near Nuneaton, Warwickshire, MIRA Tech Park is home to over 35 companies, including leading names such as Aston Martin, Bentley, Jaguar Land Rover, Bosch, Toyota, and Polestar.
The completion of Plot 9 further strengthens MTP's position as a magnet for investment and innovation in advanced automotive and clean technology sectors. The new units, finished to CAT A fit-out standards, feature open-plan workshop spaces, offices, service yards, and parking, designed to complement the existing infrastructure of this world-class research and development hub.
Adam Taylor, GMI's Regional Director, Midlands, said: "Completing this project five weeks ahead of schedule is a great achievement and highlights the dedication, expertise, and teamwork of all involved.
"We're proud to have played a part in the expansion of MIRA Tech Park, a world-class innovation hub. Finishing ahead of schedule reinforces GMI’s reputation as a trusted partner in delivering high-quality, complex developments, and we look forward to continuing our strong relationship with Swanvale on future projects."
