Plans for a new development of 547 homes in Bolsover have been submitted, marking a significant step in the town's growth.
The proposed site, allocated for housing in Bolsover’s Local Plan, will see 212 of the homes built by Persimmon as part of the next phase of their Castle Walk development, located just east of the town centre.
The mix of properties will include 2, 3, and 4-bedroom homes, all designed to meet new energy efficiency standards. Each property will be fitted with electric vehicle (EV) chargers and solar panels, aligning with modern sustainability goals.
In addition to the homes, the development will feature a new 10-acre town park and substantial areas of public open space, providing much-needed recreational areas for the growing community.
Persimmon has committed to making significant contributions to local infrastructure and community amenities. The developer has pledged approximately £3.5 million towards the construction of a new school, alongside £700,000 to support the development of the town park, in addition to delivering the park itself. The plans also include around £1.8 million for primary and secondary education, as well as £351,000 for upgrades to the local road network and £103,000 for improvements to Elmton Lane.
Further investment will provide serviced land for Extra Care facilities and a primary school, as well as the construction of a new spine road designed to alleviate traffic congestion on Welbeck Road.
