Wiltshire Council is to begin upgrading the traffic signals on Church Road in Heywood on Monday, 17 March.

The existing lights, which have reached the end of their operational life, will be replaced in a project expected to take approximately three weeks.

To accommodate the work, a full road closure will be enforced on Church Road for the entire duration of the project. Through traffic will not be permitted to travel through the affected section of the road.


Parvis Khansari, Corporate Director - Place, explained: "We have a comprehensive traffic signal refurbishment programme in place, which helps us to identify and prioritise traffic lights that need refurbishing after they have reached the end of their design life.

"We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, however, improvements like this ensure all road users can travel around easily and safely."

Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes while the closure is in effect.
