Pick Everard has expanded its structural engineering presence in the South West with the appointment of a new associate director to lead the team.
Ricardo Sequeira, a chartered member of the Institution of Structural Engineers, brings over 20 years of experience in high-rise residential and commercial developments. Having led complex projects across the sector, he specializes in large-scale refurbishments, intricate substructures, and developments involving historic or sensitive infrastructure—expertise that is particularly valuable in the region’s diverse built environment.
Based at Pick Everard's city-centre office in Bristol, Ricardo will oversee project delivery from feasibility to completion, ensuring technical excellence and efficiency. He will also focus on client engagement and business development, further expanding the firm’s reach in the region.
Ricardo said: "Pick Everard has an excellent reputation for delivering quality projects across the UK, and I’m pleased to be a part of the team leading our structural engineering presence in the South West.
"This region offers significant opportunities, not just in Bristol but across the wider area into South Wales and Somerset. Our local presence, combined with our national expertise, will enable us to provide tailored support to clients while delivering projects efficiently.
"Mentoring engineers to achieve their potential, fostering strong client relationships, and driving projects forward are what I thrive in, and I'm looking forward to developing my role in the business."
Pick Everard's structural engineering team is backed by a national network of over 70 engineers, collaborating across the firm's 13 UK offices. This extensive resource allows the Bristol team to scale project support as needed, ensuring clients benefit from both local expertise and the strength of a larger network.
Andy Gotts, director at Pick Everard, said: "Ricardo's technical expertise, leadership experience, and established relationships within the industry make him a strong addition to the team. With a deep understanding of the area, his appointment allows us to better serve our diverse clients and build on the momentum we’ve already established in the region."
