Robertson Construction Central Ltd (RCCL) has appointed Jim Duffin as its new Operations Director.
The 58-year-old – who comes to RCCL following spells with Muir Construction, Balfour Beatty and Morrison – will oversee and support all of RCCL’s activities in the pre-construction and production phases.
RCCL is one of ten separate companies that make up the Robertson Group.
Current projects include the Gartnavel Royal Psychiatric Hospital, Dundee Schools, Clackmannanshire Community Hospital and a new preparatory school for the Glasgow Academy. The company is also responsible for the delivery of the Group’s new HQ in Stirling.
Managing Director George Mackie, who was appointed as MD in January following the departure of Derek Fothergill, said Duffin’s appointment will give RCCL the added strength and experience to meet the challenges of working in the Central Scotland marketplace.
He added: “I have known Jim for about 17 years and we worked together for over 10 years at Muir.
“One of my first requirements following my appointment as Managing Director was to strengthen the operational support to the construction project teams.
“Jim’s technical knowledge and experience made him the ideal choice and I was delighted when he agreed to join RCCL.”
Duffin said: “I am delighted to join RCCL in this role and I am very much looking forward to being a key part of an ambitious business which is moving to the next level in terms of performance and market position.
“My role will be to ensure that all the requirements of the construction operations are met with a particular emphasis on Health & Safety, quality, delivery and value.”
