Cumbernauld-based Strategic Team Group, one of the UK's fastest growing suppliers of building and property solutions, has celebrated a year of charity work by officially presenting a cheque for £20k to Meningitis Research Foundation.
The donation comes as the result of a year of work for the company's selected corporate charity, Meningitis Research Foundation, and is the result of the innovative, inventive and ingenious undertakings of enthusiastic team members.
Meningitis Research Foundation was selected as STG's corporate charity in 2006 in support of a team member whose family has been affected by meningitis. The aim for the year was to get employees involved in raising a target of £20k for the charity and the company is delighted to have achieved this ambition.
Speaking about the donation, Managing Director, Andrew Watson, said: “ We work closely as a team at STG and participate in a number of charitable activities, so when we are able to pull together and support a team member as well as making a real difference to a charity, we feel we have really done something to be proud of.”
Terri McDonald, Corporate Fund Raising Officer from Meningitis Research Foundation, said: “Companies like STG can make a real difference to the lives of everyday people by getting involved in raising money for charity. The kind of activities that can be used to raise money are great for team building, a lot of fun and often good for you. The ability to realise this and act on it is worthy of praise and congratulations.”
