Robertson Group threw a birthday bash to remember as it helped the Scottish Spina Bifida Association celebrate its first anniversary in its new flagship headquarters in Cumbernauld.
The Group threw the party for all of the children from the West of Scotland who attend the centre and its staff.
A gift total of £5,000 was donated from Robertson Group with £2,500 being put towards the party, complete with puppet show, disco, balloon artist, a magician and plenty of good food. Meanwhile, a further £2500 was gifted towards a piece of equipment of choice required by the centre to help look after the children.
The new SSBA headquarters were built by Robertson Group and opened in June last year to acclaim as the building stood up to the SSBA bosses’ vision of a spacious, free-flowing and welcoming environment that offers a top-class support service to children who live with a life long and debilitating condition.
Robertson Group has shown commitment to the new SSBA Centre named the ‘Dan Young Building’ in Cumbernauld from day one. Construction costs were set at £742,000 with Robertson agreeing not to maximise the figure and demonstrating their commitment towards delivering the vision at the outset.
Robertson Group, Executive Chairman, Bill Robertson, explained that the relationship with SSBA was about making it happen as opposed making a profit right from the beginning.
He said: “There was a commitment from ourselves in recognising that there was more to the new SSBA headquarters than just a new building.
“We spent a lot of time at the pre-construction stage to eliminate risks to ensure we got the building just right and kept resolutely within the client’s budget.
“Now set in 1.7 acres of landscaped grounds looking onto the Campsies, the centre is a lovely calm place to be. It’s filled with natural light and spacious to accommodate youngsters who use wheelchairs. It’s an inviting and comfortable environment that really is a pleasure to be in.
“We threw this first anniversary party to celebrate all of this and it was great to see the children have loads of fun.”
