CALA Homes Grows In Scotland
CALA Homes is re-structuring its Scottish home-building business, creating a new regional company for the north of Scotland, appointing a new Scottish Chairman and appointing three new Managing Directors.
Gerry More becomes Chairman of CALA Homes in Scotland and a group board director, with Kevin Whitaker replacing him as Managing Director of CALA Homes (East). Alastair White has been appointed Managing Director of CALA Homes (West), replacing David Gill, one of the company’s longest serving directors, who is retiring from the company. Raymond Tedeschi has been made Managing Director of CALA Homes (North) a new business operating from Aberdeen, where CALA originated over 130 years ago.
Alan Downie, CALA Group Managing Director, who has been the Scottish Chairman for the past ten years, said that the changes in the Scottish management team reflected an increased market focus in Scotland. They also mirrored the company’s new structure in England where a national Chairman has been appointed to lead the group’s three regional companies in Yorkshire, Midlands and the South.
“I am particularly pleased that all of the appointments are promotions from within the company. Developing our next generation of managers and directors is very important to us because our success is founded on a business culture and a work ethic which are quite distinctive to CALA.
“Scotland remains a very important market for us; we have an extensive land bank and we have been expanding across the country. We have become well established in the west of Scotland, we remain very strong in the east and we want to put a special focus on growth in the north”.
Geoff Ball, Executive Chairman of CALA Group will continue to be actively involved across the UK from the Group’s head office in Edinburgh.
