Dawn Group has completed the initial phase of Glasgow North Retail Park, Robroyston, an investment of £30m in one of Glasgow's largest growth areas.
Dawn Construction, working in partnership with their sister company Dawn Developments, has completed the Retail Park and dual carriageway works on programme and to the budget of £8.5m.
The six-unit terrace creates 86,000 sq ft of retail space with 400 car parking spaces in a 12.55 acre site. Dawn has delivered the anchor unit to Homebase, a 35,000 sq ft unit with additional 13,000 sq ft garden centre. Homebase open for trade on 24th August and Acorn Pets will commence trading from their 8000 sq ft unit during September. Negotiations are well advanced with other operators for the remaining units. The adjacent Asda food store is currently completing a mezzanine extension to provide in total over 200,000 sq ft of retail offer at Glasgow North retail Park immediately adjacent to Junction 2 of M80.
The construction of each unit is steel frame with facing blockwork to the external elevations combined with cladding and elements of glazed curtain walling to the main entrances. To the interior the units have been fitted out to shell status allowing future occupiers to fit out the units to their specifications.
Road enhancing works include completion of a new dual-carriageway adjacent to the site, improving transport links to the expanding residential growth areas and the M80 corridor.
Ray Eve, Managing Director of Dawn Construction complimented the efforts: "Both Dawn Construction and Dawn Developments are reputed for their entrepreneurial flair and comprehensive market knowledge.
"We have extensive experience within the retail market and we are thrilled with the final result."
Paul O'Donnell, Director of Dawn Developments added: "This development identifies Glasgow North Retail Park at Robroyston as a quality retailing destination, fulfilling the joint aspirations of Dawn Group and the City of Glasgow Council to create a commercial centre in this part of Glasgow with increased facilities for the growing local community."
