For the first time Makita have added a cordless pin nailer to the ever-expanding inventory of professional power tools.
This first from Makita is a 14.4volt, Lithium-ion powered cordless pin nailer crammed with “big tool” features. Weighing just 2kgs this tool will prove ideal for on-site installations, second fit work and will be especially useful in the cabinet makers shop for furniture assembly.
The Makita BPT350RFE will drive home 0.6mm diameter pin nails from 18 to 35mm long. The magazine holds a useful 110 nails. The depth of the finished nail can be adjusted to give either flush, recessed or proud fit and the machine has a “soft-nose” rubber clip-on that should be used when pinning soft surface panels so that there is no mark left by the carbon steel nose.
For the operator this new Makita nailer is a well-balanced tool with comfortable and protective ergonomic soft rubber grip handle, invaluable for accurate work.
Safety is paramount in all Makita tools and this new pin nailer has a double action trigger which requires the operator to flick down a safety lock just below the trigger, before the firing trigger itself can be depressed.
In addition, and to protect the mechanism from damage if the machine is fire empty, an anti-dry-fire stop locks the trigger when three or less nails remain in the magazine. A handy belt clip enables the tool to be hooked onto a Makita work belt, leaving both hands free to line up the next workpiece.
