Leading wood finish specialist Osmo now offers a professional, eco-friendly coloured foundation for all wood floors, as part of its market leading Polyx-Oil range.
Available in four subtle colours, (light oak, mid-oak, dark oak and white) Polyx-Oil Colour Foundation is ideal for properties demanding the contemporary feel of bleached white boards or the traditional ambience associated with dark brown flooring.
Osmo’s Polyx-Oil Colour Foundation combines product performance and a stylish, enduring finish with natural, environmentally friendly ingredients. Unlike ordinary oil finish products which form a film on the wood, Osmo’s Polyx-Oil Colour Foundation’s natural components penetrate deeply into the wood to create a micro-porous finish. This allows the wood to breathe, moisture to evaporate and ensures a flawless finish both upon application and for many years to come. After treatment the wood is strengthened from within and retains its elasticity. It becomes water repellant, stain resistant and more hard-wearing. Because it meets the wood’s natural demands it does not crack, flake, peel or blister.
Supplied in light oak (3071), mid oak (3072), dark oak (3073) and white (3040), Polyx-Oil is incredibly versatile and can be used on all kinds of timber and wooden flooring (solid wood, laminated or Oriented Strand Board) as well as cork floors, unglazed ceramic tiles and furniture.
Application is simple: there is no need for a primer. Just one coat of Polyx-Oil Colour Foundation is needed and, because it offers the highest coverage on the market, a 2.5 litre tin can cover approximately 60m² of wooden floor. The white foundation is designed to give a limed effect with one coat, but if a more intense bleached look is desired two coats should be applied. A final coat of original Polyx-Oil will seal in colour and give increased durability. Also, Polyx-Oil has a natural sheen so unlike other oil finishes there is no need for buffing or polishing.
Polyx-Oil Colour Foundation is safe for man, animals and even for use on children’s toys. The reduced solvent content means it’s much healthier for those suffering from asthma and other breathing problems, compared to other oil or wax finishes. Polyx-Oil Colour Foundation’s organic base of purified, natural plant oils and waxes contains no biocides or preservatives.
Professional and versatile Polyx-Oil Colour Foundation will keep floors flawlessly stain resistant, richly coloured and beautiful. Osmo have a wide range of high quality Polyx-Oil treatments to suit individual needs. For the retailer and contractor alike, the appeal of the Osmo range is in its breadth of product portfolio, all available from just one supplier.
