LHC Network Opens For Business In Scotland

Responding to users’ demands, LHC Network has opened an office in Scotland to help procurement professionals in the public sector meet the Scottish Housing Quality Standard by 2015 compliantly and efficiently.

LHC Network had noted an increasing interest coming from Scottish users who were particularly impressed with the quality offered via its pre-tendered framework arrangements, which are compliant with EU Treaty and UK building regulations. In response, LHC Network has opened a new office in Edinburgh to provide a local point of reference.

The LHC Network is a specialist public sector building procurement consortium set up for use, free of charge, by any public sector organisation wishing to achieve efficiency savings in line with the Gershon review, without compromising on quality.

Members of the network gain instant access to 13 framework arrangements covering all the most frequently required building products and services including windows and doors, kitchens and bathrooms, external envelope repairs and security.

Most arrangements are OJEU compliant and come with full technical scrutiny by qualified and experienced LHC staff. The arrangements offer robust specifications, which address the latest technical, environmental and health & safety requirements.

John Skivington, Head of Business Development at LHC Network, commented: “To ensure all housing stock meets the Scottish Housing Quality Standard by 2015, specifiers and procurement professionals in social housing face a challenging time in delivering major projects, on time, within budget, with proven Best Value and tangible efficiency gains.

“It is for this reason that we believe more and more building product procurement professionals in the public sector are using the LHC Network. By doing so, social housing providers can have the peace of mind that they are procuring in a compliant and effective way as they drive to create “Homes for Scotland’s People.”

LHC is already the largest public sector procurement network specialising in procuring building products and services for the public sector, so members get the advantages of the purchasing power of the network when the framework arrangements are tendered, but also retain their individual freedom of choice over specific product selection and timescales to meet their local priorities.

LHC Network is managed by LHC, which has been a leading specialist in procuring building products and services for over 40 years. Already LHC Network has over 260 users including housing associations, Almos and local authority’ housing, health and education services.
