Screwfix Sales Continue To Grow

Financial results for the first half of the year have shown ongoing growth at Screwfix with a 30.3 per cent increase in sales to over £200 million.

Driven by an expanded catalogue which now contains over 17,000 high quality, low cost building, maintenance and refurbishment products, the strong sales also reflect the success of the continued roll out of Screwfix Trade Counters.

Simon O'Mahoney, Head of Marketing at Screwfix comments: "As at 21 September, 2007 we had opened a total of 75 Trade Counters across the UK and are absolutely delighted with the results. Providing customers with immediate access to 10,000 stock items, the Trade Counters are open seven days a week to ensure that are customers are able to select and collect the items they need, right when they need them."

He adds: "Sales from both our catalogue and award-winning website at screwfix.com have also continued to grow and the recent addition of over 2,000 new products across more than 1,000 pages has highlighted products at value-for-money prices.

"We have also introduced a number of innovative items aimed at helping our customers to work smarter and faster and this, coupled with a new online search capability that helps customers to find what they are looking for more quickly and easily, has meant that we have been able to further improve our complete offering."

He concludes: "Our thanks go to everyone here at our Head Office and Contact Centre in Yeovil, as well as our teams based around the country in our Trade Counters and Distribution Centres, for their dedication, commitment and continued support."

Recognised as being "where the trade buys" and promising a fast, reliable service, Screwfix is fully committed to customer care and support and despatches, on average, more than 70,000 parcels a week from its state-of-the-art, 325,000 square feet fulfilment centre.

Each item in the catalogue can be ordered 24-hours a day, 365 days a year and all products are supplied complete with a 30-day money back guarantee.
