The new structure will be sited on a prominent plot near the sea front at Ardrossan main beach in Ayrshire. The competition has been organised by the RIAS on behalf of McLaughlin Construction, the site owner, and Irvine Bay Urban Regeneration Company.
The challenge is to produce a compelling landmark design with a well-resolved plan.

- High levels of environmental sustainability.
- A design that will meet market demand and can be built within the stated budget.
