Enact To Exhibit At LGA Climate Change Conference

Following a recent speech by Gordon Brown heralding the Government's energy efficiency focus and Green Homes initiative, a conference is set to reiterate many points raised by the Prime Minister relating to energy efficiency in the home.

The conference organised by the Local Government Association (LGA) focuses on 'Climate Change: Your Council, Your Climate, Your Action'.

Exhibiting at the conference, taking place on 4 to 5 December at the Ramada Hotel, Leicester, will be Enact Energy, the multi-award winning firm of energy consultants that specialises in providing and managing energy efficiency projects for local authorities, housing associations and fuel utilities.

It aims to present key findings from the LGA's Climate Change Commission on how councils can make a change in helping deliver national climate change objectives at local level, will provide an ideal platform for Enact to demonstrate its pro-active approach to climate change and ways to reduce its causes and effects.

The focus on energy efficiency in the home in the speech made by Mr Brown holds particular resonance for Enact.

Mr Brown stressed the significant amount of energy that is lost collectively in all of our homes through poor insulation. One of the projects that Enact manages, the Heat Project, focuses predominantly on the installation of loft and cavity wall insulation in all homeowners and private tenants' properties, which can cut CO2 emissions in the average home by up to two tonnes, and save up to £345 on the annual fuel bill.

Enact will be promoting the companies project management services as well as the Heat Project at the LGA Conference.

Exhibiting in the main hall of the conference, Enact anticipates it will be a major success, in particular following the renewed focus on the importance of energy efficiency and climate change heralded by the Government.
