Ruberoid Building Products is celebrating after winning a highly commended award at the national Construction Marketing Awards.
Ruberoid picked up the highly commended award in the 'Best Marketing Communication to encourage Corporate Social Responsibility' category in recognition of its Fix That Hut campaign, which donates free roofing materials to worthy projects in the UK.
The Construction Marketing Awards is the only event of its kind to recognise excellence in marketing within the construction industry. Companies are judged according to their ability to engage and inspire their stakeholders, initiate and encourage a two way dialogue, demonstrate that CSR is an important factor in its own right and turn policies into actions.
Marketing Manager at Ruberoid, Jane Campion, commented: "We are very pleased and extremely proud to receive the highly commended prestigious CSR award. The Fix That Hut campaign has helped over 10 local communities since its launch in 2006 and this award highlights what a success the campaign has been. It takes a huge amount of effort by us and our key customers who we work with to organise the local distribution points for projects."
Jane continues: "Our corporate social responsibility programmes are an important part of our business culture and our policy has always been to ensure that whenever possible our behaviour has a positive impact on society. Being able to help communities across the country maintain their important buildings is extremely rewarding and we will continue with this campaign in 2008."
Ruberoid Building Products is part of the worldwide IKO Group and the leading UK manufacturer and supplier of roofing and structural waterproofing materials for the building and construction industry.
