Record Attendance At Regional Health And Safety Event
A record number of visitors attended Health and Safety 08 held recently at Sandown Park in Esher, Surrey. The event, the first of two in a regional series sponsored by DuPont, experienced a rise in visitor numbers of over 20% clearly demonstrating the effectiveness of its combination of a high quality educational programme with an exhibition in an easy to access regional location.
One of the most popular attractions proved to be the free seminar programme delivered by industry experts and by IOSH members representing the London Metropolitan branch. These sessions attracted an average audience of 200 delegates. Paul Underhill, SHE & Security Manager for DHL Global Mail, a visitor to the event said: "The Health and Safety 08 show at Sandown Park was a great success as far as I’m concerned and was well worth taking the time out to attend."
Free downloads of all the seminar notes from Sandown are available at www.healthandsafetyevents.co.uk and registration for the Northern Health and Safety 08 event at The Reebok Stadium in Bolton is now open via the same website.
The exhibition was very busy on both days with Mike Denton, Technical Support Manager for Aearo commenting: "For Aearo the show was very successful. I can understand that for some the number of visitors is important, and this is indeed readily measurable, but another factor is the "quality" of those visitors. The Health and Safety 08 attendees were of a very high quality and we have made a number of important contacts."
An exciting new addition to the Sandown event was the southern regional heat of the Combilift Driver of the Year competition. This was won by Roy Cleaver of Alsford Timber, who was "delighted and utterly surprised" to come first. He received his trophy from Combilift’s Paul Hopkinson, and has secured a place in the final, to be held at Combilift's Headquarters in Ireland later in the year.
The next in this series of regional Health and Safety events will take place at The Reebok Stadium in Bolton, North West England on the 8 and 9 October 2008. Tim Else, event director, says of the 2008 events: "I have been pleased with the positive feedback we have received from visitors, exhibitors and industry bodies about the event at Sandown. With 50% more exhibitors at Bolton this year, the event is already shaping up to be incredibly valuable for visitors and, judging by the popularity of the seminars at Sandown, I would highly recommend pre-registration for the exhibition and seminars to guarantee a place."
