Kier Eastern Begin Refurbishment Work On School In Rollesby

A turf cutting ceremony has marked the start of a new era for Rollesby Primary and Nursery School.

Over the next 23 weeks local contractor Kier Eastern will build new classroom facilities, a play area and cycle storage and carry out internal refurbishment at the school in Main Road, Rollesby.

The building work is being carried out to provide extra resources for the school which changed from being a first to a primary school last September, enabling it to take pupils up to the age of 11 for the first time.

To celebrate the start of the work, Kier Eastern joined forces with Norfolk County Council and the school to organise a turf cutting ceremony.

Kier Eastern's Divisional Director Dennis Cotton said: "Kier Eastern is honoured to be given the opportunity to work on a project that promises to benefit the children of Rollesby for generations to come. I wish the build every success."

The work at Rollesby is being undertaken as part of a £77m partnering framework with Norfolk County Council. The framework, which is being managed by NPS Property Consultants, seeks to deliver classroom improvements and better facilities for thousands of children at 36 schools in Norfolk.
