PME Changes Name To Carillion Planned Maintenance

PME, the mechanical and electrical maintenance services arm of Carillion plc, has announced that from 1 May it is changing its brand name to Carillion Planned Maintenance.

Originally a family-owned company, PME was acquired by Carillion in March 2005. Since then it has expanded both organically and as a result of the recent Carillion acquisition of Alfred McAlpine, with employee numbers growing from 3,500 to 4,600 and turnover increasing from £175m to £650m.

PME’s market position as one of the UK’s leading mechanical and electrical maintenance service providers has been reinforced through the acquisitions by Carillion of Mowlem in 2006 and Alfred McAlpine in 2008. These acquisitions brought the Mowlem Technical Services and Alfred McAlpine Business Services Technical businesses into the company, further growing PME’s client portfolio. The new trading name of Carillion Planned Maintenance also incorporates PME’s air and water hygiene business, BEH.

Carillion Planned Maintenance Managing Director, Peter Black, said: "The acquisition of Alfred McAlpine in February gave us an ideal opportunity to update our business name to convey our parent company values and re-define our core capability. Today, as part of Carillion plc, we have a reputation for setting new standards in service delivery and we are committed to maintaining our focus on customer service throughout the ongoing integration and rebranding phase."
