Heanor Library Gets Makeover
A bright new look is on the cards for a Derbyshire library which is to undergo a major revamp.
Derbyshire County Council is improving the lighting and rewiring at Heanor Library.
The authority is also upgrading the heating system in the 50-year-old building as part of the £32,000 refurbishment.
Derbyshire County Council's cabinet member for cultural services, Councillor Bob Janes, said the work will bring big improvements to the library.
He said: "This is an excellent improvement scheme which will make the library better and brighter.
"To ensure the safety of staff and the public it is necessary to close the building while the work is being done and we apologise for the inconvenience.
"We ask that people bear with us while the work takes place and make use of alternatives such as the website or Call Derbyshire on 08 456 058 058 to renew books in the meantime."
