Miller Construction has been awarded a £28 million project for the construction of a new secondary school in Leamington Spa by Warwickshire County Council.

The 80 week project will see Miller Construction demolishing an existing teacher training centre and creating a new community school and arts college covering 15,000 sq m.

The campus will include five low-rise buildings, incorporating the main hub building, three teaching blocks, and a sports complex, all of which have been designed to compliment the school's semi-rural surroundings.


The new North Leamington School will also have a number of eco-friendly features such as sedum roofs, a biomass boiler and rainwater harvesting for toilets.

Simon Butler, Regional Director for Miller Construction in the Midlands, said: "Educational buildings like the ones in North Leamington are paving the way for the future in terms of school design.

"In addition to its environmentally friendly credentials and high tech sports and performing arts teaching facilities, it is utilising anti-bullying features to encourage positive behaviour, which is a further step forward in the learning environment."
