Staff and pupils at St Edburg's Primary School are to relocate to new school buildings as part of the proposed development at South West Bicester in a few years time.

Cherwell District Council has published draft planning guidance to advise on the future use of the site, once the school has relocated. The document sets out the planning context for the site and outlines what the Local Planning Authority would consider appropriate in terms of amount and character of redevelopment.


Councillor Michael Gibbard, the Council's portfolio holder for planning and housing, said: "This is a fine example of a Victorian school and master's house with some lovely architectural detailing. It contributes to attractive views towards the medieval core of Bicester, which we would like to see retained, so any new development will have to be minimal and sensitively located."
