HSS Solves Generator Noise Problem
HSS Hire, the UK's leading tool hire specialist, has received its delivery of brand new "Hawk" 2.6Kva Diesel Generators, the smallest noise compliant generators available in the UK. HSS is the UK's only hire retailer to have access to this product, having signed a 12 month exclusivity deal with Harrington Generators.
This is in response to an ever growing business and consumer demand for a lightweight, energy efficient and, most of all, quiet generator. The "Hawk" will be especially popular for applications where the noise from a traditional diesel generator would be obtrusive. This product complies with and exceeds all current noise regulations. In particular, HSS has identified outdoor events, facilities management and maintenance as core markets for the product.
Amanda North, category manager for HSS, comments: "We are very excited finally to get our hands on this noise compliant diesel generator. It has taken 12months to finalise the design and obtain regulation approvals. Technical Manager Stan Barkwitch and I recognised a gap in the market and quickly hunted down a reputable manufacturer capable of delivering a small canopied engine that keeps the overall unit cooled and more importantly, noise compliant.
"Our robust internal testing of the product found that these generators were the very best of their kind on the market and we are now ready to roll them out across the HSS nationwide network."
The2.6Kva Diesel Generator is equipped with a Lombardini 15DL225 engine with a noise LWA > 96dba. It is the smallest generator on the market, with a total weight of 80kg, a fuel tank capacity of 3 litres and dual voltage, which means it can run continuously for 3 hours on full load.
