Council officials in north Derbyshire were celebrating recently as the joint Building Control service reached their first birthday.
In 2007, Bolsover, Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire Councils joined their Building Control services together and have been celebrating a year of providing a local, unified building control service to residents and businesses alike.
Since it was launched, BCN Consultancy has provided its expertise and local knowledge on a number of large scale projects including the new centralised Council depot at Doe Lea, the proposed new stadium for Chesterfield Football Club and the new primary school at Sharley Park, Clay Cross.
The team should be the first port of call for anyone who is thinking of undertaking any construction work from house extensions to large scale developments.
Based at their head office on Dunston Technology Park, BCN Consultancy have also provided its services to a number of other local authorities including Derbyshire County Council on building regulations for the whole Building Schools for the Future programme across the county. They have unrivalled local knowledge of ground conditions and geology throughout the former mining areas of north Derbyshire and provide advice on the new energy performance certificates for domestic properties.
A spokesperson for BCN Consultancy said: "The team is going from strength to strength. The past year has been very hectic and provided us with some exciting opportunities. Building control regulations can be a maze at times, that's why it is always best to speak to us first so we can provide you with the knowledge and expertise at extremely competitive rates."
