Greenspan Sets Cement Board Standard
A leading construction specialist, Greenspan, has launched a versatile and technologically advanced cement board system.
Water-resistant Aquapanel is a complete exterior system that sets new standards for building design and construction.
Aquapanel offers considerable productivity benefits, thanks to its distinctive construction.
Special tools and processing methods are not required - its unique 'score and snap' properties mean it's easier and faster to install and Aquapanel's dry-lining technology means shorter drying times too.
With less working time required, on-site installation costs are reduced and efficiency improved.
The cement board in Aquapanel has a Portland cement and aggregate core, with coated glass fibre mesh embedded in back and front surfaces.
Impact-resistant and non-combustible, the board has square-cut ends, with a reinforced, shockproof EasyEdge, wrapped with mesh embedded into the cement for extra strength. The particular qualities of EasyEdge ensure easy joint treatment with filler and tape, resulting in a stronger structure.
"Aquapanel represents a great step forward in cement board technology," said Michael Cregan, Managing Director of Greenspan.
"It's easy to work with, hard-wearing and weather-resistant and, because all the relevant accessories and ancillary items are carried by Greenspan, we're able to provide customers with a one-stop shop."
He also said that Aquapanel provides a solid, dry and durable base able to withstand the extreme weathering effects of wind, rain and snow.
It can be used as a basis for exterior walls in ventilated or water-managed systems and has a range of accessories, including rustproofed screws, joint filler, reinforcing mesh and exterior tape, as well as finishing options from primer to plaster.
With Greenspan also able to supply a range of beads, trims and expansion joints, everything needed is available from one source.
The Aquapanel system provides architects and distributors with a high quality, economical alternative to traditional methods of construction such as brick and block.
Aquapanel boards can also be curved and are suitable for use on exterior walls, ceilings, façade renovations and other external and special projects.
