Induction Heating System Solution Reduces Energy Costs
There has been a call to reduce energy costs with the help of a new, high frequency induction heating system.
Cheltenham Induction Heating - an Ambrell company - has the solution and has just announced the expansion of the Ekoheat line of induction heating systems to 135 kW.
They said it is equipped to deliver significant energy savings to the heating phases of all manufacturing processes.
Ekoheat technology provides improved return on investment by reducing energy usage, compared to alternative heating methods such as gas-fired ovens and resistive heating techniques.
With very efficient power conversion and a power factor greater than 0.9, utility demand charges are significantly reduced, resulting in lower monthly energy bills.
They also said that flameless, non-contact induction heating also minimises energy waste by focusing energy only on the zone to be heated.
The systems are available at a very attractive price per kW, helping to justify initial capital expenditure.
Ekoheat systems are particularly well-suited to case hardening, high-speed brazing, melting, crystal growing, continuous wire and continuous strip heating.
For these and a wide variety of other applications, Ekoheat delivers reliable solutions for larger parts of many geometries and compositions, said Skip Thompson, Vice President of Engineering & Worldwide Product Development.
"In addition to energy efficiency, the Ekoheat is designed for the worldwide market supporting 360 to 520 AC line voltages and is CE marked," he said, noting that the user-friendly control interface - available in six languages, (English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Polish) - streamlines operator interactions and provides valuable runtime information."
This extension of the series adds 65 kW, 90 kW and 135 kW units to the existing 15 kW to 45 kW models at operating frequencies from 50 kHz to 150 kHz.
Additional models at higher power levels and with a wider range of frequencies will also be available. This family of products is manufactured at the ISO 9001:2000 certified Ameritherm facility.
Ameritherm, Inc., Cheltenham Induction Heating Ltd. and Ameritherm France Sàrl are combined under the common banner of Ambrell.
These induction heating pioneers provide over 60 years of induction expertise. Products offered under the Ambrell
brand are available through offices, distributors or representatives in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, India, and Mexico.
Development, manufacturing, sales, application engineering and services at the regional level provide support for advanced products and solutions.
The Ambrell group has 20 technological patents with installations in over 40 countries. Extensive product and applications information including video demonstrations are featured at the Ambrell website, www.ambrell.com
